Dr. Sharkey Bio
Dr. Jerrold Sharkey has more than 40 years in the medical profession and has treated more than 2,000 patients. A resident of Tampa, Fla., Sharkey graduated from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and the City College of New York. He served in the U.S. Army as the Chief of the Urology department in Rodriguez U.S. Army Hospital in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He also has held the position of Chief of Surgery at Baptist Hospital of Miami and New Port Richey Hospital. Additionally, he held a faculty position at the University of South Florida Department of Urology.
Sharkey is a past president of the Tampa Urological Society and is a member of the Southeastern Section of American Urological Association, American Brachytherapy Society and American Urological Association, Florida Urological Association. Sharkey is board certified in urology and has been a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons since 1972. Since 1991, he has published and lectured extensively about prostate cancer treatment options. |
